Tinnitus Treatment

Tinnitus is a very widespread disorder. Half of those affected are chronically ill and their brain are fixed on the perceived sound.

This is the starting point for therapy with neurofeedback. Patients practice developing a different "image" of their brains that overlays the annoying sound. Several studies, for example one conducted at the University of Constance, show that a change in EEG rhythms, particularly in the delta band, can affect the way tinnitus is perceived.

Neurofeedback training feeds back parameters on the relevant brain activity to the patients in visual form and in this way they learn to modify their rhythms, thereby achieving a significant reduction in the exposure and in the volume.
